I’m Irwin, born and raised right here in Mauritius. I’ve lived on this island my whole life, but I still stop to watch the sunset like it’s the first time I’ve seen it. That sense of wonder is probably why, for as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted a camera in my hand or a way to record sounds.

When I’m not behind the lens, I’m an amateur musician. Whether I’m playing an instrument or just listening, I’ve always had a drive to create and document the world around me. I’m also a naturally curious person—I love learning about people’s lives, their stories, and where they come from. It’s one of the reasons I enjoy traveling so much; it’s the ultimate reset for me, and it’s how I keep my perspective fresh.

Being able to speak English, French, and Spanish helps me connect with the people I meet, and those connections are where my best photos start. I’ve always been fascinated by memory. Time moves so fast, especially during a wedding or a family holiday, and I’m passionate about creating something permanent for you to hold onto.

After more than a decade as a photographer, my biggest "aha" moment was realizing that the best photos don’t happen when you’re trying to look good or worrying about where to put your hands. They happen when you’re lost in a thought, laughing at a joke, or just enjoying the moment. My goal is to get you to that place where you forget I’m even there, so I can capture the real you.
